So here’s the story…

Ok so for the longest time, I’ve kept a lot of my personal life separate from my blog because it’s just something I like to keep for myself. But this year’s gunna be a little life changin’, so I thought this would be a great time to share some fun things I’ve got coming up and how I kinda got to where I am with it. Oh and totally brag about my super cute engagement photos from my friend and amazing photographer, Nicole Clarey!

So seven years ago, I was in college and recently single. I was in one of those, independent-woman-I-just-wanna-have-fun moments in my life (obviously) and then a super handsom baseball player hit me up to hang out. I played it cool, of course, but it didn’t take long for me to be totally smitten over him.

Now I’ll save you from all of the ridiculously and annoyingly cute details, but 3 years later we moved down to Newport Beach together. You can only imagine how often we got the, “So when’s the wedding?!” question. Ugh, kill me now. But ya know, jobs, figuring who we are, what we want…life, you get it. So we decided to ignore the comments and do things in our own time.

So after all this time, he finally did it! We went out to a gorgeous beach in Laguna, there was NO ONE around, and he surprised me with a rock… I mean… ring! I felt every, and I mean EVERY, possible emotion in the world. I thought, here we go!

I still keep this pretty private and don’t share every detail of this process because, like I said, some stuff is just nice to keep for just us. But this is it guys. This is the year that everything’s goin’ down. And I’m getting super excited and little by little I promise I will share all of the fun little adventures with ya’ll, between the planning, showers, bachelorette (ow owww!), and the big big day.

But for now, here’s some incredibly sweet photos of a couple of goofy kids by the talented Nicole Clarey!

Oh, and meet Jeff ♡

✧ Mermaid Mønday ✧

Alright guys, I’m gunna share a little secret with you. And the reason why it’s a secret is because it’s so amazing and I want to keep it all to myself!

A lot of people ask me about my hair and I must say, other than having an amazing hair stylist, I have to use only THE BEST products to keep it soft and pretty. Believe it or not, my hair is DARK. Like dark, dark (I mean check the brows). So the whole blonde thing takes a lot of extra careful work. I found a hair care product that is sulfate free (very important), super rich in botanical extracts (my favorite thing about it) and only the best essential oils. Oh and did I mention is smells amazing? I’m not a flowery kinda girl but I’m a sucker for anything with those subtle, natural, beach-y scents.

The best part about it, it’s a whole luxury brand with fragrances and bath & body too! It’s not easy to find this stuff in stores, so lucky for you I’m sharing how to get it all for yourself. You’re welcome.

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like summer is just getting started in OC?!

Ok, honestly, I haven’t even had a lot of time to head down to the beach these days, but for the rest of you who get to take advantage of these sunny days, make sure you get yourself some rad shade from Beach Brella to look hot and stay cool on the sand (see what I did there?)!

The Las Brisas Beach Umbrella is one of my favorites, but there are 5 more super cute designs to pick from, and they all come in their own easy and adorable bag. I always keep a pair of sandals, beach towel, and now my Beach Brella in my trunk for whenever I can get the chance to run down to the water! And trust me when I tell you how light it is to carry and easy to pop up and down! If you’re anything like me, thats a big deal!

The best part about it all, I’m all about supporting our local shops and designers, and Beach Brella is founded and designed by one of our very own Laguna Beach locals! You can get yours online HERE or stop by one of our local shops to pick yours up this weekend ≑≑

“My Brella’s are a reflection of what I value most in life; enjoying a healthy, balanced lifestyle where we work hard but always make time to put our toes in the sand.”

-Shelley Arends, Beach Brella founder

| Wildly Evie + 16th Colony |

I had the chance to be a part of a really rad project for Hanger Shortage and 16th Colony. Renee Rogers, the creative and beautiful mind behind 16th Colony, asked me to take her around Newport Beach in her amazing designs while she made my life look like a movie with her camera! To say we had a lot of fun that day is definitely an understatement.

≑Aloha≑ ↠↞ Family Vacation to Maui, HI

So last month I was lucky enough to travel to Maui, HI with my family (aka “The Team”) for some much needed time together with the plan to wrap up our trip with a fabulous wedding for a dear sweet friend of ours!

Aside from the absolutely beautiful scenery, I had the chance to experience some amazing things- even overcoming some fears- with the people I love the most. Of course I’m going to share some rad pics of my favorite swim suits (purchased in Lahaina Town), my favorite go-to romper and the perfect outfit for a Hawaiin hike.

Keep scrolling and you’ll get a few more pics that are fun and personal of my time with the fam! I know I tend to keep my life a little more private, but I couldn’t resist sharing these ♡ Enjoy!

Alright guys, I’ve traveled quite a bit in my life, but my flight to Maui was probably THE BEST flight ever!

Made the decision to fly out of San Diego and as soon as I got on the plane I recognized our flight attendant. He was so rad and hooked my family and I up with free drinks and the first class treatment- I mean can it get any better than that?

So mama hooked it up with the sweetest diggs at Puamana in Lahaina, HI. With the ocean right in front of our patio, down the street from Lahaina Town, it was the perfect spot to say the least. The brother brought a fun lawn game, we had friends over for BBQs and we started every day having our breakfast and coffee on the patio and watched every sunset with a drink in our hand.

Between hikes, beach, or even pool time, we had the perfect combination of activities and down time just soaking up the Hawaiian sun and taking in the killer views. Side note, how cute is my nephew? Pretty damn adorable!

Ok guys, I am PETRIFIED of heights! But my sisters got me on a zip-line and it was AHHH-MAZING! The best way to see Hawaii is from above and this was about as high as I could get. If you’re in Hawaii, you need to zip-line, trust me!

The Team

Thanks for being so amazing Maui! Aloha! ≑≑≑

Girl Party + Pacific City

Sundays are the perfect day to catch up, and I’m finally getting to this post that is wayyy overdue! So if you haven’t already heard about or come across Girl Party on Instagram yet, then trust me when I tell you you need to check them out, like right now! Not only do they have amazing deals, but they have the cutest clothes! I’d have to say my favorite’s are the pink fringe jacket and boyfriend jeans. I basically spent the entire weekend in Girl Party!

image3-7 Side note, has anyone gone to the new Pacific City in Huntington Beach? Ohhh my gosh I LOVE it! So many great restaurants to check out, killer views of the beach, and of course my favorite, the one and only Equinox lives there too! I had the chance to check out Ways & Means Oyster House with some friends and it was so cool inside! I wasn’t feeling adventurous enough to try the oysters but I was told they were pretty great. And if you are a fellow blogger, you will die over the different wall backdrops for photo ops (you get it, haha!)

A Peak Inside My Home for the Holidays

So I absolutely LOVE decorating my house for Christmas! I love being cozy on the couch with hot chocolate, the Christmas tree lit, the fireplace going, and a Christmas movie to top of the perfect winter night. Call me crazy but I love how the lights look at night in my house so I’ll leave them up as long as I can (basically until it’s the second or third week of January and people start thinking I’m crazy)! With Christmas right around the corner, here’s a little peak inside my home and how we love to get all snuggly and obnoxiously cute around the house during the holidays! Oh and on a side note, if you never got a chance to read my feature on This Girl Nicole’s blog last year, meet my sweet Aussie pup, Maximus. Maxi-boy for short <3

Holiday Gift Guide: My favorite gifts from Anthropologie

I’d like to think I’m a pretty good gift giver. Maybe it’s a little selfish of me but at the end of the day I want the person who’s getting the gift to love me the most for getting them the coolest gift ever! So here’s the deal, I needed to get a Christmas gift for someone (who’s name shall remain anonymous because it’s for Secret Santa!) and I swear I spent over an hour in Anthropologie- true story. I wandered around trying to pick the perfect gift for them. I would pick something up, walk around with it, put it back and then repeat the process with a different item. I wanted everything, I just couldn’t decide on one thing! Something else I do when picking out gifts is think of if it would be something that I would want. And I’d like to think I have pretty good taste! I actually have quite a few things around my house from Anthropologie so I finally made the executive decision to get her something that I also have and know is super cute and they will love and get great use out of! With that in mind, I thought I’d share some of of my favorite Anthropologie gifts I’ve gotten and would be a great holiday gift for someone you love this season!

Alright, so if you’re anything like me, you are so particular with your home and everything from the refrigerator to the coffee table books are organized perfectly! I shouldn’t even be telling people this, but its embarrassing how organized and clean I like to keep my refrigerator and even dirty tennis shoes need to be aligned perfectly by the front door. Enter, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.  I LOVE this book guys. Since I’ve been in my new place, this book has been great and given me some good inspiration and ideas, not to mention it’s a cute addition to my decorative bookshelf! Anthropologie has TONS of great books and would make a perfect gift this season.

These coasters though! I actually was gifted these a couple of Christmas’ ago and absolutely love them! They come in a few different rad colors and can totally be mixed and matched.

Peronsonally I think clothes and accessories are tough gifts to give to someone because you never know if it will fit or if they will even wear them! Well that and that’s the kid of stuff they would just get for themselves. But if you know their style and something they could get great use out of, I think something fun for around the house is a great gift!

Here’s a couple more killer gift ideas from Anthro! Happy shopping people!
